About

Growing up, I was best known for raising goats and playing the violin in a small town in Willard, Missouri (population ~3,000). I migrated West to attend Stanford University and took my first programming course (go Boggle!) freshman year. I graduated with a degree in Symbolic Systems and a concentration in Human-Computer Interaction before working for Synaptics designing input devices and leading their Human Factors research. In 2005, I co-founded Meebo with two friends, Seth & Sandy. I initially authored the JavaScript framework and went on to head the PM, UX, and Web teams before stepping into an advisory role in late 2011. For more about me, you can read about the making of this blog’s wallpaper.

Now, I’m reconnecting with folks I’ve neglected and enjoying an opportunity to take a quick breath before diving into something new.

More personal details about me include that I’m married (to Todd Masonis) and in the process of moving to San Francisco. My unmarketable interests include seeing the world via rented bicycles, cooking experiments, assessing what colors look best on people, and finding unfunny situations funny.
